To manually configure your system for CWNet under Windows XP, please follow the steps as shown below.

 

Step1:  Click the Start menu and open Control Panel.

 

 

Step2: Choose Phone and Modem Options.

 

 

Step 3: Click the Modems tab. If your modem is installed and properly working, precede to Dial-Up Connection Step 1. Otherwise, click Add

 

 

Step 4: Click Next to continue with the Add Hardware Wizard.

 

 

Step 5: If WindowsXP was successfully able to detect your modem, then you should see something highlighted similar to as what is shown below. If not, you either do not have a modem or WindowsXP does not recognize it. In the latter case, consult your modem manual or manufacturer to troubleshoot. Click OK.

 

 

Step 6: Click the Start Menu and open the Control Panel.

 

 

Step 7: Click Network and Internet Connections.

 

 

Step 8: Specify your Location Information as appropriate.

 

 

Step 9:  Click OK.

 

 

Step 10: In the New Connection Wizard, select create a Dial-up connection. Click Next

 

 

Step 11: Fill in CWNet for the company name. Click Next.

 

 

Step 12: For Phone Number to Dial click here. Click Next.

 

 

Step 13: You have successfully created the Dial-up connection for CWNet. Click Finish.

 

 

Step 14: Click the Start Menu, then go to Connect To, then click CWNet.

 

 

Step 15: Type your User name and password. Be sure you are set to dial the correct number. Click Dial

 

 

Step 16: Your modem will dial.

 

 

Step 17: It should then verify your user name and password. You should now be connected to CWNet.
